What Does Ethylene Mean?

Ethylene is a hydrocarbon that is a simple form of alkene having two hydrogen molecules, each attached to two carbon molecules that are double bonded together. The chemical formula for ethylene is H2C=CH2 or C2H4. It easily combines with oxides and glycols to form ethylene oxide and ethylene glycols, respectively.

Ethylene is widely used in the petrochemical industry to manufacture polyethylene.

Produced from ethylene, polyethylene is a good insulator and resists caustic materials. It is almost unbreakable. It is reliable and usable under any environmental conditions from extreme hot to extreme cold.
