Cupric sulfide conversion films (also known as cupreous sulfide conversion films) are protective barriers composed of naturally occurring copper and sulfur, with the chemical formula Cu2S. It is typically deposited on glass surfaces to prevent surface deterioration or attack.

Cupric sulfide conversion films are deposited using ionic layering and adsorption reaction methods. The films are typically deposited on glass and wafer substrates. To obtain high quality cupric sulfide thin films, preparative conditions such as concentration, pH and temperature must be carefully controlled. This applies to both cationic and anionic precursor solutions. The characterization of the films may be carried out by using X-ray diffraction, electrical resistivity and thermo-examination techniques.

Cupric sulfide conversion films are applied with automatic spray pyrolysis techniques.
