Test Method G28

Last updated: June 22, 2020

What Does Test Method G28 Mean?

The G28 test method is a corrosion testing method used in many industries as quality check test for accessing the resistance to intergranular corrosion of various stainless steels and nickel-based alloys under certain environmental conditions. The test detects grain boundary differentiation and sensitization. Besides the final heat treatment, several factors come into consideration when determining the rate of corrosion in an alloy, although the chemical composition is the largest influence.

There are two G28 types: A and B.
