Definition - What does Embedment mean?

Embedment is the process of fixing and adhering protective material such as fabric, synthetic fibers or felt to a pre-existing coating, lining, bitumen or metal.

Embedment can be applied to piping and other corrosion-prone materials to aid the prevention of erosion and corrosion. Embedment is significantly used to prevent corrosion due to wastewater presence by preventing the formation of hydrogen sulfide.
