Graffiti is a common problem in many cities and developing areas. Graffiti artists will usually target any public surface they can find, including buildings, property walls and subway stations. In addition to being an eyesore, graffiti is readily absorbed into porous surfaces, making removal difficult. In the United States, graffiti removal costs an estimated $12 billion annually.

Though this act of vandalism is illegal in most countries, it is extremely difficult to monitor, control and prevent. However, while graffiti cannot be eliminated, graffiti resistant coatings can be used to help lower cleaning and repainting costs and deter further vandalism. As an added benefit, some coatings may also assist with protecting the substrate from the corrosive effects of cleaners and solvents.

In this quiz, we will test your knowledge of anti-graffiti coatings, graffiti cleaning methods and corrosion prevention mechanisms.
